Welcome to Ortho Nurse

The primary objective for Ortho Nurse is to improving clinical practice, education and advocacy for orthopedic nurse practitioners and their patients through a collaborative interactive online presence.

Goals:

  • Unite orthopedic nurse practitioners with professional orthopedic associations in nursing, medicine and academia for the purpose of developing orthopedic residencies for registered nurse practitioners.
  • Educate Orthopedic Nurse Practitioners on evidence based clinical practice improvement practices through shared experiences and evidence review process.
  • Advocate for Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner residencies in Doctorate in Nursing Practice Programs to ensure ongoing translational research in orthopedic nursing which improves patient centered care, practice and process outcomes and cost effective care
  • Advocate for improved bone and joint health across all patient populations.

Ortho Nurse is Live

Ortho Nurse is now live in response to the California Action Coalition (CAC) of nursing leaders who have responded to the Institute of Medicine/ Robert Wood Johnson Foundation report “The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health” by establishing eight different work groups, one for each recommendation.
