National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses San Diego, Chapter 37

The San Diego NAON chapter (Chapter 37) has 50 members and is growing.  We have representative members form all of the regions hospitals as well as members abroad. 

Our Chapter is very active in education by providing orthopaedic and related training at the local chapter meetings.  We also support Research, Orthopaedic Nurse Certification (ONC) and annual conferences:

Melissa Yeager was nominated by Debbie Palmer for the Orthopaedic Nursing Certification Advocacy Award.  Melissa was presented with the award in March 2010       

National Annual NAON Congress - Chapter members present each year with either a podium presentation or a educatonal poster presentation.

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons - NAON collaborates to support education specific to nurses and allied health

Bonafide Orthopaedic Nursing Educational Symposium (BONES) - A fun filled themed educatonal event on International Orthoapedic Nurses Day

A Tale of Three Cultures- A joint educational dinner symposium with a vendor area organized in collaboration with 3 professional nursing organizations; NAON, AMSN and AACN
